These companies range from electricity service companies that offer compensation to their existing customers for referrals to firms that have built their entire business around building downlines through “consultants” that they hire as part of large network marketing initiatives. On the network marketing end of the spectrum, it is often hard to tell if participants are actually able to make money through participation and some “consultants” have taken to the web to talk about tactics used to falsely inflate earning potential.
With that said, the best product advocate is often another customer and electricity service companies are smart to use satisfied customers to grow their base. It can be challenging for customers to cut through the marketing to see the real savings, but ultimately there are significant savings to be had in switching to a new electricity service company.
